Interesting thread...I'll try most anything, but I do have two absolute, will not grow foods: walnuts and figs. Grandparents had a grove of walnut trees which gave us an overabundance. Perhaps too much of a good thing. Don't care how pricey they are, I can't stand them. Figs, as a youngster I used to enjoy them until the day I learned the importance of moderation.

Cilantro. I tried it this year and really was looking forward to it but it tastes horrible and honestly makes me nauseous. I wouldn't say it tastes like soap as many others do, but simply unpalatable. That is unfortunate but can't be helped because it is genetic. I have cilantro during all the cool months. It self-sows for me and except for weeding is labor free. I grow some for parasitic wasps.

Figs, as a youngster I used to enjoy them until the day I learned the importance of moderation. You might like stewed figs. Stewing makes them taste different. It also kills the bacteria that could have caused your condition. I am speaking from experience.
