My native weeds are green, growing, and a few are putting out little flowers and seeds.
Rain + sun = weeds

Had my first batch of spearmint iced tea of the season. I was laying the irrigation line in that bed, and there was plenty to snip some short sprigs, to toss into the tea. Peppermint is ok, in tea and the dishes I use it in, but spearmint is the best! Unfortunately, it gets aphids indoors!

First larkspur. I can't take much credit. It's neighbor George's big black cat. Some years rabbits destroy most of the larkspur. This year, when the rabbits showed up, the cat got them.

Made my first ever Mobile deposit with my iPhone, to my credit union account. It was surreal- really makes it even more "funny money". But with distancing in place and banks only open at the drive up windows I decided it was time to join the 21st century and deposit from home.
Got mixed feelings about it but I see me doing this for the foreseeable future.

I saw an orange flash fly past the deck window yesterday morning. No oriole music to be heard, though. we did purchase two oranges when at Fareway. And there's a squeeze bottle of crappy grape jelly in the cupboard. We are ready.

A covey of quail in the back yard early this morning, maybe 10 birds. It's not unusual to see a quail in the yard but never before a covey. I didn't realize what they were until they ran for cover in a patch of larkspur.
