Is that where the chat about illegal people I don't hear such chat. I don't watch TV. TV is bad for my peace of mind.

The orange haired man turned chicken on the border closing so no worries about the avacados.

I was prepared to buy an avocado at a higher price yesterday, but all that was available was about 10 of them, well past prime. They felt like I could have squeezed the goodies out, like an over ripe banana. No avocado this week.

There's been no change in availability or price around here.

Aldi had a good selection. Aldi left the town nearest to us. There may be one in Oskaloosa, but we rarely go there.

I got those 6 at Aldi this week, rock hard unripe, and I always hope that they ripen at different rates. This week another store has them for 5/$4, so still not bad - I don't see prices skyrocketing, like we often do, with just rumors. But then, that's when I just stop buying things, until the prices come down. There's nothing I need that badly.

My sister lives in Missouri and the midwest had a lot of river flooding so now say that the farmers have lost cattle and other animals and will also not be able to plant on time so food prices including produce might go up. Good reason I guess to try to grow as much as you can in your garden this year!

Good point heirloomfan, tho I think the majority of produce comes from Ca. I am not sure what produce that is grown in the flood affected areas and shipped nationwide. I think mainly grain and livestock but, really don't know.
