lilolpeapicker, I'd say yes. No carrot is that perfectly odd, with fingernails! Looks like the nails were added.

I was thinking that the hand was prob blown up a bit to get that big... I didn't see the tips as "nails" but carrots are usually more blunt at the tip.

I vote photo shopped, as well. Along with the fingernails, that upper hand/wrist area is suspect too. I've never seen individual carrots grow off a huge mass like that. lilolpeapicker,

Nah...I think I'll pass on the showing of that film... Horror movies are not my cup of tea... But thanks anyway, tom 🕊... ;) ...

I think I am going to do carrot starts this year, beets too. I tried a 6 pack of beets last year...worked out ok. Carrots will be an interesting try. I have Napoli F1 and Carrot Cosmic Purple both from BakersCreek. I may get more of something

When planting carrots, I loosen up a strip of soil about 3ft wide. I then rake the soil into a long raised row, flatten the top then plant on that. The nice loose soil helps grow straight carrots. Another thing. After the seed has sprouted and growing nicely withhold water to send the taproot deep in search of moisture. You can't grow long straight carrots if the taproot ain't there. kc

Yesterday I shopped at Whole Foods to get organic coffee and vegetables. I found they had organic bay carrots. Afraid that they were washed in chlorine I did not get them but rather I did get the standard carrots. I tried looking online to see if these baby carrots could have been washed with the chlorine but could not find anything/ Does anyone know or if you find it online let me know please? I never liked the baby carrot flavor and then found out about the wash.

lilolpeapicker, Rather than rely on online information, which is usually biased on one side or the other, I would email or call Whole Foods, or the producer of the product in question. There are lots of opinions out there on baby carrots and baby-cut carrots.

So... meandtk, I saw your bucket of carrots. Is your carrot growing done for this year or will you have a fall crop?

binnylou, That was my fall planting left in the ground too long. I planted some last week to see how a spring planting will do. Carrots aren’t a typical crop here, so I’m on trial and error here.

meandtk, did those newly planted carrots seeds sprout for you? Mine are still in the seed envelope.
