pepperhead212 Can this be used in place of fresh cilantro? Found some today and bought a little.

I remember trying those back in the 90s, maybe before, when cilantro was available nowhere! It really had no flavor like the fresh- like dried parsley.

No way is fresh available in our small town. Thought I’d try the dried for the heck of it.

Sorry to hear that, Mumsey. I remember way back when I had that problem, and I'd make my trips to NYC, I'd stock up on it, and do what I later did with basil - ground it up with just enough oil to mix it in the FP, then froze it in square containers. Later, I'd chip out chunks as I'd need it. Later I discovered the popsicle method, which was easier. Maybe you could stock up when you take the occasional trip to Des Moines, or wherever they may have it?

Or grow your own Mumsey, and do the chop/oil/freeze. It reseeds readily too. Once you get cilantro started you can have it effortlessly for years.

desertwoman, pepperhead212, I remember growing it years ago and never used it. And it did come back for years. Since I'm experimenting with different recipes, I find I will probably need to grow it again.
