The Patterson onion crop was less than I had hoped for, but if Copra seed is not going to be available, I’ll grow Patterson again. The onions are smaller, but that might be a good thing. I can use the whole onion and not need to store leftovers in the fridg. The skin on the Pattersons is nice and dry and tight. Though I won’t have to worry about storing them long term, they look like they would store great.
Who all grew Patterson this year? Opinions? Will you grow them next season?

binnylou, I grew them last year and again this year. They were larger last year as were the Red Wings. I'm convinced the weather had a factor in their growth this year. Mine are very nice despite their smaller size. The Patterson from last year stored well in the bottom fridge drawer and lasted until they were gone in March.
