This isn’t about moving peonies, but I’m wondering about the bloom status of your peonies.
Our peonies usually bloom during Memorial Day weekend. In a normal year. I checked our peonies yesterday, found very few flower buds. Some plants have no flower buds. Buds are tight and I doubt there will be color and fragrance this weekend.
But, when those flowers show up, I’m gonna bury my nose in the fragrance.

My mom's birthday was May 30th, and every year the peonies bloomed for her on her birthday. We used to bring a bouquet to put on her grave. Out of the ten bushes, one looks like I will have a bloom for her birthday. All the other plants are close, but you never know. It's supposed to be hot the next few days, maybe that will coax them to open.

Here at home mine has budded but no blooms yet, but the house in town has bloomed already and I deadheaded the spent blooms yesterday - there's 3 more buds that will open on that one. It's my favorite.
And as I talked about earlier in this thread, I want to take a division from the town peony to bring here but I've still been too chicken to do it.It's my favorite and I'd be so sad if I lost it by slicing in to it. My other thought is since we are planning to sell that house in 2 or 3 years I may just wait and dig a huge root ball and swap them out. I'm not at all attached to this one at home. It's white- nothing special but was already here when we moved here.

I have an early one that finished blooming a few weeks ago. Some are in full bloom now and one variety hasn't opened yet.

I found the white peony with two fully open blooms today. I’m sure that last year, this peony was pure white with a bit of red in the center. Today, I swear it had a glow of pink.  |

Mine are opening. The pink and dark red and the pink with creamy white centers are in full bloom mode. Waiting on the white one.
