2 of the 4 kittens from last Fall remain at Dad's. They are the ones on the blue barrel in a previous pic. Pippy, with the brown face, was the runt and still remains on the small side. We do know one was hit by a car. There are new ones again, 3 maybe half-grown. They are most likely from the neighbor down the road. This one has such an interesting face! What should his/her name be? Whiskers? Sox? Boots?

And those eyes - so intent and alert. The right front paw is so cute, as if she's wearing high top stockings. Maybe Sox or Boots would be a good name? White Sox? A cat with such a sweet face should have a sweet name.

“Twain”. For Mark Twain....because of the mustache and whiskers.
OR...
Izzy...is he a boy or is he a girl.

What should his/her name be? Whiskers? Sox? Boots? "Chicago", after the baseball team, the Chicago White Sox. I think locals sometimes call them "ChiSox" for short. Maybe that rolls off the tongue a bit easier than "Chicago".
Are they the team that plays in the old ivy-covered Wrigley Field? How about "Wrigley"?

I think it will be "Soxi". Thanks for the suggestions! Though I like Izzy...... reuben, Speaking of White Sox, they will be playing the Yankees at Field of Dreams here in Iowa in 2020, August I believe. They are setting up a seating deal for 8000 fans. It's in Dyersville, a very small town not far from Dubuque and the Mississippi River. A hop, skip and jump to Illinois.

And then there's Shoeless Joe Jackson, who played for the White Sox from 1915-1920, missing at least the 1918 season because of WWI.
Maybe "Shoeless"?

Mumsey , daughter was there yesterday. She and her college suite mates had their annual weekend get together. She parked her vehicle in Holland and headed east with two of the girls, meeting up with two others at a Dubuque rental house. Holland must have received the same rain that you received because she said the van was nice and clean. They stopped at Dyersville on their way home.

Finally realized what the lovely cat's right paw reminded me of - boxing gloves. Notwithstanding her markings, she has such a sweet face that I think she deserves a sweet name. I wish I could reach through the computer and pick her up and hold her.

I got a new kitten too. Wanted him for the same thing as your dad Mumsey, rodent control as I have lots of mice around the garden/barn. He's orange with white feet and on his belly. I named him Maximus, he's my garden gladiator. Seems he's going to live up to his name as he's always stalking around in the garden and trying to pounce on the chickens. He even tries to stalk and pounce on the fawns that come around to feed with their moms. Hopefully by next year he'll be able to run off the squirrels that ravaged my apple trees.
