For two years, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has been testing your food for glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller.
According to internal FDA emails, test results show that hundreds of commonly consumed foods contain glyphosate. Yet so far, none of that information has been made public.
Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by watchdog group U.S. Right to Know, the FDA’s secret is out. Yet according to an article by U.S. Right to Know’s Carey Gillam, the agency is downplaying the results—and making no apologies for hiding the information from the public.
OCA is no stranger to the world of testing foods for glyphosate. But unlike the FDA, we let the public know when foods like Ben & Jerry’s ice cream are contaminated. In fact we’ve sued several companies for advertising glyphosate-contaminated food as “natural”—we’ll soon have updates on the outcomes of two of those lawsuits.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, you’ll want to read this latest report on a government agency keeping consumers in the dark.

Great info. Most adults have it in their urine!

Brings back unpleasant memories of the days with all the DDT in food.

That is unfortunately so true pepperhead212 , and if it's in adult urine Mumsey ,, think what it is like in kids bodies. They are so much smaller and concentrations will be higher, I would think. This makes me infuriatingly sad. Thanks, kimm, for this important info.

And, desertwoman, just think of how much the kids are getting in this outside, as well as the other herbicide, 2,4-D.

I know pepperhead212 , It breaks my heart. I suppose we could say that is one benefit of kids not playing outside as much, these days- their exposure is limited somewhat. I never thought I'd ever sing some praises of kids playing indoors on their various devices. Just writing all that makes me shudder on so many levels.

PBS is running a series from the BBC called "Trust me, I'm a doctor" about health issues. One of the latest tested indoor air in several homes, some of the people used very large quantities of products with Limonene, something that produces that lemony scent (air freshners, soaps, candles, etc.) and according to this Limonene breaks down into formaldehyde, a known carcinogen. Indoor plants seemed to help reduce that in the air samp-les.
