Feeding the bees sugar syrup. Just toss in some wood chips for the bees to land on.

16 ounces of honey requires 1152 bees to travel 112,000 miles and visit 4.5 million flowers.

James, Totally amazing and I think I read that in it's lifetime one bee only produces 1 tsp. of honey!

It's Daylily time in my flower garden, and I had a huge black and yellow fuzzy bumblebee visiting. The variety Mary Todd has larger blossoms and I watched this bumblebee try to land...nearly turning a$$ over apple cart. I don't know what his problem was...he had no problem moving from one blossom to another. Perhaps he was overloaded. DUI?

James, Mumsey, desertwoman, binnylou, I have a problem...the pup chases the bees that are cleaning up in the garden. I am thinking of putting a fence around where most the bees are but Jesse is finding bees in the flowers set around the back yard.

lilolpeapicker, If he gets stung, maybe he won't chase them anymore! Princess has tried it in the past, I say "no" or "get outta there" and she does. She only has to be told once. Of course I don't know what she's doing when I'm not looking.....just like kids!

Of course I don't know what she's doing when I'm not looking.....just like kids! Same with Ellie- our kitten is now 7 months old and I often say she's probably dancing on the tables when we aren't around.

Mumsey , my pup listens when I tell her no or get outta there but like any kid the retention span is lacking. And, frankly, I'd rather her not get stung. Same with Ellie- our kitten is now 7 months old and I often say she's probably dancing on the tables when we aren't around. Yes I don't know where she find kleenex to tear apart when I am not looking but she does!
