Thanks John I made two of the bucket set ups so far. I have to see how many free buckets I can get. I like that the buckets are really more portable than the totes. Seems like they may last longer than the totes too. Gardening in these containers is really close to square foot gardening so I would use that guide as to how many plants per bucket. Except one square would not be big enough for a tomato and I know people have been growing upside down tomatoes in these buckets for years, so they should work one per bucket.

Ecsoehng you are certainly welcome and believe me you are going to be pleasantly surprised. I had to build a 14 ft. trellis affair all the way down my benches. tomato plants went to the top and all the way back to the ground(the indeterminate) and the determinate larger than usual. I only put one plant to earthtainer, except for herbs. If you know resturant people, bar/or lounge people, bakery etc. all have for either juices, pickles, icing etc. I have found going to the local supermarkets I frequent to be the easiest place to secure and if they know you want them will save for you. Be sure to collect all sizes for different plants.
I also remove the soil at seasons end and throw in the compost pile, till it up and keep adding leaves, grass clippings etc. reuse next season.
