Going to sit on the back porch after the evening meal and listen to a bit of classical. Just finished making this cd on a cd-rw. Expect it to be very relaxing after a day in the yard and garden. Catch glimpses of the hummers and other birds as they prepare for the evening.
Can't wait until July when this wild berry tree in the back yard is full of ripe berries. Birds especially the robins, thrashers and mockingbirds get to eating the berries while perched on the branches. Apparently makes them drunk as they try to fly and fall to the ground and just squat for a few minutes or so. Absolutely hilarious..keeps me in stitches!
1 Strauss, R-Also Sprach Zarathustra
2 Offenbach - Orpheus In The Underworld: Infernal Galop
3 Handel - Messiah: Hallelujah Chorus
4 Bizet - Carmen: Les Toreadors
5 Khachaturian - Gayane: Sabre Dance
6 Beethoven - Symphony No. 9: Ode To Joy

Gonna settle into early evening with a bit more of our British friends and play a cd of modern swing and jazz by The Pasadena Rooftop Orchestra. Some really nice sounds for a cloudy evening..may even get the clouds to drop a few drops with these easy tunes. Certainly going to put the hush-a-bye on the plants and critters. :-[

Think I'm going to put together a cd for tonight of Scott Joplin's piano ragtime. I have some old stuff recorded on a hand turned vitaphone or an old wind up gramophone. You get the scratches as well as the music. I've got some stuff from late 18oo's to early 1900s. Going to be an old night on the back porch and some heavy duty rag time!
