I love those. As a kid growing up in Texas, I played with the Eastern Black swallowtail caterpillars that roamed over the grapevine that ran up the tool shed and over a trellis. We would sit on the tool shed roof, touch them lightly and watch the black and pale green striped caterpillars with yellow spots rear up and stick out their orange horns which resembled a forked snake tongue. They gave off an odor that was citrusy, but unpleasant. There were also Tiger swallowtails that had big eyespots, but were all green. All became beautiful butterflies.
