desertwoman, yes, it is a bummer...but I don't miss the hail that is sometimes associated with the storms!

And since I decided to do a water change of the koi pond and use the water to irrigate, it is starting to thunder and lightning with a threat of actual rain. But looking at the radar, the system is on the north side of the Arkansas River and will likely miss us again.

Only .04" here last night and this morning. They say the humidity is supposed to lift, but dew is still on everything, so I didn't do anything out there this morning.

desertwoman, it just wet the sidewalks...but 10 miles to the north there was flooding as 2" of rain fell in a short period of time. Other than scattered thunderstorms, we are probably staying dry for the next week.

We have now gotten all the rain in one day that we usually get in the month of July. Many evacuations in the interior of the province and even down near the Fraser River only 15 minutes from my house ( we are uphill so we are OK). It is unseasonably cool here and while greens crops are thriving, not much else is. The thermostat in the house reads 67 degrees. Gotta get that pipeline to the border started right now!

Early morning thunderstorm left us with 6/10 inch. Thunder and lightning with no wind was kind of delicious as it rolled in while I was still in bed. The smell of fresh perked coffee was in the air so hubby was up and enjoying the rain.

No rain here even thought they were predicting it. Cloudy but no rain.

And here they were NOT predicting it and it's been raining hard for the past 20 minutes, with thunder and lightening.
I want to run out there to see how much we've gotten so far, but will wait.

It's down to a very light drizzle so I just ran out to check....4/10 inch in about 40 minutes with probably more to come.
