We had a few bouts of torrential rain during the night and another inch and my daughter's wading pool will start to overflow. We're supposed to see highs in the 90s this weekend though.

It's still not overly hot here (77° now), but very humid, so it feels worse. I am going out to do a little bit, but a storm is headed here soon. And starting tomorrow, possibly five 90+ days in a row - not looking forward to that.

Before the storm came through, I mowed the lawn - even though it didn't really need it, I didn't want to do it when it is really hot out! The brief thunderstorms came through after I was done, the first two with little rain, the last one, putting it up to about .6", then it got sunny.

HOT HOT HOT! 90˚ But humidity is 26 %, extremely low for us. It was 20% yesterday.
Went for 3 mile walk at 6 am. Came home and watered all potted things. Went to the big city today for some stuff. Needed more cedar lumber for DH's deck project. Low and behold! The price of 2 x 4 lumber is declining, but no other cuts have declined. The 2 x 4 8ft boards were $20.80, now $15.59. Needed 1 x 4s also. The guy at the lumber desk said those were around $10. OK, same as last time. He put them on the ticket. Those are inside so we had to get them there. When we got to them, the sign said $14.19!!! Higher than last time. Questioned the guy helping us, asked him to double check the price. The guy at the lumber desk apparently gave us the wrong price, but since he did it they had to honor it. OK again.
Stopped at Wally World for some things, short stop. Went to grocery store then home. I noticed broccoli heads needing cut, wow that grew fast! Cut up several boxes of mushrooms for freezing, on sale at Aldi. Cut up 20 lbs of chicken, that was on sale at Fareway. Went to see old neighbor at assisted living, took her some flowers. Speedwell, Baptisia and Asiatic lilies about to bloom. She loves flowers. Also stopped by the ice cream shop and took her a chocolate malt. She was at the door waiting for me, I was on her calendar with "ice cream" after my name. We always make a date for my next visit each time before I leave. We were able to sit in the courtyard and visit.
For this hot weekend, the plan is to defrost the chest freezer and get some indoor things done. I will probably venture out early and water the entire garden, after our walk. Afternoon walks are entirely out of the question in this heat.
While at Menards I got some doggie treats for The Princess. They look like oreos. I opened them and put them on the counter, got distracted by something else, came back and DH was about to eat one. I had discarded the box. LOL!!! They look like real chocolate oreos, in a tray like real oreos! They are made with carob and peanut butter.

Had a pretty good day yesterday. With sweetheart leaving at 4:30am had plenty of time for domestic duties before going to coffee shop for breakfast. Then back to the house to bucket water outside potted plants. Jumped on the tractor to retill areas that I had tilled previously that were to wet when I tilled them. The heat and wind were in my favor. Then armed with pepper plants and Mumsey’s mix I finally got the peppers in the ground and buckets around all. Then decided to put up a couple of old cattle panels for pole beans. It was a fight but finally got them straightened out a bit and wired to some t-post. By then the sun had me wore out so I dropped the tiller off of the tractor and hooked up to the weed mower. Finished up mowing one of the pastures about dark. It was a good day

Well, after our one day drought is over. Sky dumped another inch on us in the last hour.

It got to 91° here yesterday, getting hotter today and tomorrow, with humidity going up, as well. I am not looking forward to this first, very early, heat wave.

not looking forward to this first, very early, heat wave. pepperhead212, ahntjudy, It's funny how we were first complaining about the cold hanging on too long and then about the heat being too early. I agree, while at the same time I am puzzled.

pepperhead212, gardendmpls, Seems that's how summer has been arriving the last few years. All messed up, then bam! It's hot and stays hot. 90's all this week for us with little prospect of rain.

Summer is here. Upper 80s today with 11% humidity.
Smoke from 2 Arizona fires and one in Southern NM have us with quite hazy skies. Me thinks it's going to be a tough fire season this year- it's only early June and we're already surrounded by smoke blown in.

Eeee-gads! It's 77˚ right now at 0500 with 77% humidity. We will be walking at 0530, I doubt it will be even 2 miles. It all depends how sluggish The Princess gets. We will stay closer to home. 4 times around the court house square is a mile and only 3 blocks from home. Works for me.

72 degrees with 93% humidity predicted high of 88. I’m going outside to do some tilling this morning then inside to remove base trim in preparation of new floor installation scheduled for Saturday.

It was in the low 70s early this morning, and low humidity, as well, so I'm not complaining! It's finally going to be about average here - in the low 80s, instead of in the 90s, and much less humid, as well. And tomorrow it is supposed to be 10° or more below normal - I wonder if half the people will be back in their winter clothes again?

Overnight low was 52º and it's currently 63º heading to high of 89º. Humidity is 8%
When the overnights get to the low/mid 60s we all start compiling what a hot night it was!
