It "only" got down to 53° here overnight, and only supposed to get to 55° today and tomorrow - lower than originally forecast, but we'll find out. And it rained just over an inch, so far today - 1.02", adding to .72" yesterday, and the .82" Wednesday, so we finally got rain! Only .66" in all of May, until this week, and more to come.

We've had record cold temps for the highs all over this area today - it only went up 1° all day, to 54°, and supposed to go down to 50° overnight. My peppers won't like that, but it's only once - and not as cold as many are experiencing. No more rain added to that 1.02" in the afternoon, but more is supposed to come down overnight and tomorrow.

It got down to 39 last night and my peppers were not happy this morning. There wasn't a frost at least. It's supposed to go down to 39 again tonight, so I grouped all the pots together and threw a sheet over them all. Tomatoes did fine.

In the 40's today, rainy, windy and miserable. Tomorrow's predictions in the 50's with rain and Monday in the 60's with rain. Rain off and on but higher temps after that. Once it warms up will be good planting weather, but not so much for tilling the new beds. I can start the squash indoors meanwhile and set them out later.

We've been in a cold spell for the last 3 days and may be breaking the lowest cold temp set today and maybe tomorrow. My heat was on in my house when I got up this morning....set at 62º. It isn't supposed to get warm for another few days....at least. We had over an inch of rain Fri and Sat. More coming this afternoon. The lawns were crispy to walk on from the dryness. Heat IS coming on Wednesday.... 80s on upcoming weekend.

It got into the forties last night, but my heat did not go on. Will have to call one of my sons to see what's wrong so I don't have a problem when I turn it on next year. Meanwhile, lots of blankets and a cat curled up by my feet.

It drizzled on and off all day yesterday, but only about .1" after that larger amount in the morning. So far today .27", with scattered rain much of the day, so another indoor day. I went outside briefly yesterday, to see how the plants fared in that wind, and I didn't have to "reconnect" any of them. I don't remember the last time they were referring to "wind chills" on a Memorial Day weekend in this area.

We're getting a "real" rain today. Hail too. It started mid afternoon today. I checked the rain gauge around 5PM and we had 1/2 inch and it is coming down pretty hard again this evening. We could end up with close to an inch! Flash flood warnings are in effect for Santa Fe, so we could have them out here, as well. Oh goodie!! Real rain!
It's currently 50º and it's predicted to get to mid 40s overnight. Sure am glad I have yet to plant my basils, chiles and tomatoes. They've been overnighting outside the past 3 nights but they're getting wheeled in tonight.

We finished with just over the 3" of rain for those few days we finally got some! Yesterday was nice - finally got up to 72°, after those 54° days we had . All over the area they set records for the lowest high temps for those dates; fortunately, we weren't setting records for the lowest temps of the dates, though some places were getting well into the 40s. Today it is supposed to get to 79° - average high for thus date in this area. And little wind, which is a plus!

Got 8/10 inch of rain yesterday! Everybody has big smiles- plants and humans
Overnight low was 42º. Another night in the 40s tonight and then we should be consistently in the 50s from tomorrow on. We'll see. What a weird year.

Cool 85 outside (sarcasm) Humidity 55% but I don't believe it. Mosquitos weren't bad today as long as I stayed in the shop with the doors closed and drop cloths stuffed under them. Did manage to pick a few tomatoes that hadn't ruined from too much water. Rained another 1/4 inch this morning early. If it keeps up I may plant bananas or something like that. Something that grows in a tropical rain forest.

Raining again today - hardly enough to accumulate, just raise the humidity! But every time I stepped outside, the droplets would start. But tonight, much more is forecast, with a heavy front moving slowly across the area, with all sorts of flood watches, and one I don't like to hear - damaging wind warnings. I checked all of my tomatoes, and tied up all of the sections that have grown since last time - amazing how fast they have grown! Only in the high 70s today, but higher humidity, and heat coming soon!
