It has rained every day for the last 8 days. Supposedly a reprieve this weekend!

It was in the mid-60s this morning, so it was nice out there - I didn't do a lot out there, since I didn't have much left to do. The rain has been so light that the grass has hardly grown since last cut! I turned my exhaust hood on, and the exhaust fan in the bathrooms, to pull that cool air inside, while outside. About 10:00 the temp started rising slightly, so I closed everything up, and turned off the fans. The AC will come on later, as it is supposed to get to the mid 80s today - not as hot today as yesterday, but still quite hot. And no rain in the forecast, still.

Mid 80s today, then mid 90s starting tomorrow and no rain for a week or more. Very early for that kind of heat wave, even here...but the soakers are settled in and all is mulched well. Soakers and mulch are really good things.

First day in the 90s this year, but still very dry, so little humidity. It is so dry out there it's killing some of the weeds! I even watered my garlic chives (one of the weeds), as the clusters were wilting. This is the first season in a long time that I have had my timers watering this early.

We got 1/2 inch of rain yesterday afternoon , evening, and over night. It came and went and there was nearly golf ball sized hail at one point. That made quite a racket on our metal roof! The hail, fortunately, didn't last too long. Some minor damage to plants- nothing they won't recover from. A half inch is a real rain around here and everyone is thrilled. Combined with the hail, it's the talk of the town today

We don't have mud any more. It's just slurry now. I tried to salvage some potatoes and I can't even dig with a fork where they are. I'd have better luck using a bucket.
18" in May alone so far here.

It is so dry out there it's killing some of the weeds! I was pulling weeds when I thought something was shooting tiny seeds at me. Appeared to be dried out chickweed. Thought maybe I was imagining it until my daughter came in later from cutting flowers and asked what plant it was that was shooting lots of seeds at her.

Got to 94° today, though still not too humid, which is good. It's only supposed to get to 70° tomorrow, then 74°, then back up in the 90s! This is why I don't plant snow peas in spring any longer - it turns to summer way too early, and there isn't enough spring weather. The peas usually pod out when just 2" long!

Another overnight low in the low 30s last night. So glad I am still wheeling in my starts at night.
It's predicted to go back up to overnights in the low to mid 50s by mid week.

Really hot, 90 degrees, and dry --- no rain for the past couple of weeks. Soil moisture per cubic foot is at 20% (parched, for here). Soil temp is 92 degrees at 2 inches, 88 degrees at 4". Supplemental watering is called for. All looks good, except for the Sprite tomatoes, they're looking a little pekid. Unusual weather for this time of year.

Two nice days in a row - 71° and 76° - when I got a lot done outside! Today, another 90+ day, so I did little out there (but always something, of course). Most of the day I've been inside.
We are supposed to finally get some rain! We'll see...16 days rain free, and April was a low rain month, as well.

90F, solid rain under bright sun. That only happens in summer.
Then getting unseasonably cool the next few days - lows near 50, highs near 60.

Almost no rain when that front came through - only .05", then the sun was out again. It might rain some later, but not much.
