Wheelgarden, I found this while walking the other day and identified it a single-leaf orchid aplectrum hyemale. I remembered the leaf of the orchid you posted was plantain-like so I was able to do a search and identify it in no time. I remember seeing another last year but seems it was closer to the house. Will have to keep a path cleared so I can go back and hopefully catch it in bloom.

That's Lupine gardendmpls , started from seed 2 years ago. SpringRain🕊️ , Not Dusty Miller but Lamb's Ears. The Lamb's Ears are spreading all over. Bees love them.

From the guy's yard down the corner, bagged up 13 stuffed contractor's trash bags full of nice, dry leaves that stomped down nicely. Also, yesterday, neighbor next door and his son carried over a big tarp full of leaves, so that was nice.
While raking in a thickety area down the corner, I disturbed what turned out to be, a yellow jacket nest, apparently, cuz this small swarm of smallish 'fliers' came out of nowhere, acting irritated, so I backed off, didn't know what they were yet. After a minute or so later I noticed a few yellow jackets just sitting on my shirt and on my glove...they were kinda zoned out. Do bees/wasps hibernate? I'll have to look this up.

While sweeping out front yesterday, I saw the guy across the street raking leaves and bagging them up in those big Home Depot paper bags. Those leaves now reside in my leaf pen.

The bagger was removed from my riding mower and it’s old and a pia to put back on…I miss it when I do the leaves…and my Nextdoor neighbor has 3 huge maples and doesn’t own a rake so they blow into my yard. I’m trying to fig out how to tie a tarp envelope near the discharge.🤔 because the job is overwhelming.

claude, are these trees or any others in between them accessible enough that you could tie something from trunk to trunk? If the trees are tall, though, that wouldn't be much help b/c there still would be leaves blown down.
