ahntjudy, I've been thinking about starting the castor beans and didn't realize Tom grew them too. So I think I'll also dedicate them to his memory. Now if I can just find a creative way to utilize some old tires.

The lilacs are filling out, blooming imminent! Hostas are early this year, which means they will be looking icky early. I'm needing more wood chips and did see a giant pile at the tree dump, but will wait til next week and hope there are still some there. Can't get any crap in my eye right now.

Things didn’t start out well yesterday....... Sunday was sweethearts day of work. Being a nurse at a state facility her phone must stay in her car. Being Mother’s Day and her being the only nurse on duty she was pretty devastated when the nurse for the next shift called off. She ended up working from 5:45am Sunday to 12:15am Monday. With Monday being her day to pick up the youngest two grandsons at 7:00am for the day she was a real mess to find out that they weren’t home from a trip. So on the way home we stopped at a nursery to look around. Long story short, she came away with some flowers and and 3 trees. A little “plant therapy” helped brighten day!

A little “plant therapy” helped brighten day! It's the best! Sometimes , if I'm having a "moment" I just stop in and take a walk through the nursery. I call it 'an attitude adjustment'- I don't even have to buy anything!

Audible symphony going on in the backyard this evening. Windows open enjoying the rain accompanied by frogs/toads and the whippoorwill. Life is good!

Stuff is growing well here. It's hard to believe things are so huge in the perennial department, and some ahead of schedule. Which of course means they will look crappy sooner Diligent pruning should help with that. To think that garlic digging is only a month away!

Due to our lack of rain earlier in the season, the volunteer gomphrena took a while to germinate out front... But then they took off...
