Ok, so where Hazel goes, not much grows. My "Wall of Tomatoes" raised planter area suffered the most this past season from her exploring and frankly, adjustment period. Working with a trainer on behavior, routine, etc. She seems to leave the more durable/woody plants alone so I was thinking of taking the same space and setting a high horizontal grape arbor. Setting the posts and cables is easy enough. Question for you folks is should I simply mulch under the vines or plant? Leaning toward herbs like savory, sage, and lavender at the moment. Maybe root crops? Anyway, I always appreciate input from all y'all.
