What I did today? I cleaned up what my girlfriend Hazel tore up. Where Hazel goes, nothing grows. It's my fault really, she is bored all day.

Rained here nearly all day. Better over the weekend they say. But at work I was clocked at 80mph in the bus on a state road....and it was posted on the wall for all to see....it was a mistake however... Glad when this day is done Good night.

A mistake driving 80 mph or a mistake that you weren't actually driving that fast?

That I wasn't driving that fast... There is no way nearly anyone could drive that fast on this road in particular. Some could anywhere but I am not one. And there is no way I would jeopardize anyone on the bus, jeopardize my license... The error is in the computer. I spoke to the safety supervisor about this and she couldn't find it on the computer anywhere.
And the monitor on the bus would back me up 100% because it didn't happen. The NYS maximum for a bus is 55mph...that is with or without anyone else on the bus.
So I was getting teased by the coworkers and I told them "yeah, I passed the Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote!

That's what I figured. I was wondering if a school bus could even go 80 mph!

Who said you were doing 80? I went back and read your post again. So there is some sort of monitor on the bus? I can't even imagine a school bus going 80.

I don't know where the list was generated. But I am told that corporate has the bus speeds monitored via computer and when bus goes over 60 it makes some sort of warning noise until it goes down below that level. Wherever it was it is computer error. I have seen some buses go quite fast on the highway but not being on board I wouldn't know for sure what the speed would be.
Monitor, meaning a bus aide which is whom I was referring. Also, our buses have what's called zonar which sends information back to corporate. It also helps to do child checks so no child is left in the bus(that also depends on how thorough the person doing the zonar check as well) Before we start a run, each a.m. and p.m. we do a zonar check of the bus....There are several discs in and outside on the bus to check. It has a gps on it as well.

when I was a cross country truck driver, most company vehicles put what was then called a: governor, the driver literally COULD NOT go over whatever speed the governor was set at. this was in the mid 80's. at that time also, they had something they called: black box - that your boss could remove and check on you if they wanted... (the 2nd company we worked for had no governor, and I had that puppy up to 105 more than once going across flat Nebraska!)
pea, sounds like school busses are much more modernized and sophisticated and thorough; which makes sense of course

Red, I was just going to ask the same thing...busses here in ct can have governors on them that keep the busses from exceeding 55 mph.

Cleaned the house this morning... Cleaned up the veggie garden this afternoon... Eliminated all the nasty looking tomato plants...beans and eggplants... Prepared beds for the garlic... Cut back the spent hosta stems... Looks a lot better out there... There's still lots to do... But a good days work...

Went to the gym (I pump iron to maintain strength for all I do in the gardens) Prepared the garlic bed (planting tomorrow) Cleaned up and pulled out the tomatillos and half of the bean field (and harvested the last of the tomatillos) Turned the compost (it's pretty wet from that 2" of rain a couple of days ago) and pulled some out for the garlic bed
I still have 4 zukes on the plant, a bunch of NM Bolitas on the vines and 3 bell peppers on the plant, and some chard and kale loving the fall weather, otherwise everything is pulled out and cleaned up in the veggie beds.
Good chance for first frost tonight. It's late this year. We'll see....
