We've been growing hot and superhot peppers for about 5 years. They're very slow in germinating and growing, but by the end of the season can be very prolific in harvests. I use the superhots in fruit jams, and actually love the hot jams in oatmeal, PB & J, on pork roasts and BBQ sandwiches.
Last year we grew Jimmy Nardello, long and sweet peppers that are wonderful in casseroles, etc.
Lots of ways to use the peppers, just not eat them outright!!!

Jimmy Nardello is a good one, the plant gets very tall also. As I remember, it is sweet and thinner walled than a bell.

This coming year, I am going to make crosses between Ghost Chile and Purple Tabasco. I won’t eat any tho, too hot, more of an ornamental project.
Statistically, people who eat hot peppers regularly live an average of 7 years longer than people who don’t eat any hot peppers.
Capsaicin is fat soluble, so the best way to treat your mouth being on fire is to swish your mouth out with heavy whipping cream or some other fatty liquid, and then spit.
I hope to one day beat the record for world’s hottest pepper

Here in Northern New Mexico, where hot chile is life itself we cut the heat with sopapillas- golden pockets of deep fried goodness (made with a mix of sprouted wheat and white flours)- tearing off a corner and filling the pocket with honey. Magnifico!

I love hot peppers & hot-pepper sauces, but not the ones that can blow the top of your head off. Habanero/Scotch Bonnets are pretty much the hottest ones I'll willingly consume.

Every year I start seeds for one superhot, for a kid that I know, and last year that Death Spiral outdid every pepper of any type I had ever grown! I haven't heard what kind he wants this season, though he had something he had heard about that was supposed to be hotter than Carolina Reapers. Time will tell.
