Support for accepting the idea of climate change and changing our destructive ways has come from an unexpected source - the Pope! Well I say, good for him.
Here is a link to the article
www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pope-calls-for-action-now-to-save-planet-stem-warming-help-poor/ar-AAbLMse
This is an excerpt from his comments:
Time was running out to save a planet "beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth" and which could see "an unprecedented destruction of ecosystems" this century.
"Doomsday predictions can no longer be met with irony or disdain. We may well be leaving to coming generations debris, desolation and filth," he wrote in the nearly 200-page work.
"The pace of consumption, waste and environmental change has so stretched the planet's capacity that our contemporary lifestyle, unsustainable as it is, can only precipitate catastrophes, such as those which even now periodically occur in different areas of the world,"

Hear "the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor..." He seems to be a good man.

This presents a dilemma for some of our catholic president wannabes. Do they continue to deny climate change or do they follow the leader of their church?

Well there are a lot of holiday Catholics...without enough time to regularly attend church...but saying they are somehow makes them more legitimate. Personally, give me an honest, straightforward person..that has integrity. When a tea party candidate remarked that climate change should've left to scientists..he was informed that the Pope's education includes a degree in science.. The more I hear of this Pope's priorities..the more of a fan I become. Just saying. thanks for the link, Brownrex

Jeb Bush said that he did not believe in bringing his religious beliefs into politics which is a good thing but I hope that he listens to the Pope.
I don't applaud the Pope's message because I am a Catholic but because it is the right thing to do and I applaud his courage in backing a controversial issue according to his beliefs. He has the power to influence a lot of people.
I agree with DW. He is a good man.

Definitely an interesting guy. At least better than the previous one who had been in the Hitler youth as a boy, although probably not totally optional at the time but still somewhat dubious in a Pope. I still don't agree with all this papal infallibility concept though.

One of my favorite stories about Pope Francis was early on after his election. It was discovered that he was sneaking out at night, dressed in ordinary robes, and going to homeless shelters and/or food lines to serve the poor.

From the get go, he stirred up the Papal college..he insisted that something be done about decade long wrongs and fighting within the Church. He lives in a modest space refusing to live in the papal castle. He wants the church to embrace members. He supports the poor in his neighborhood. There are so many People right next to the castle that don't have enough food. He visits other countries to walk among the people.
