My allergist talked to me about the shots. I am not prepared to spend that much time in a doctors office at this point.

I know, it's a pain. He used to go in at 7:30 am before work and the nurse would give him the shot. He used to only have to sit and wait after the shot for 15 minutes but now they make you wait 1/2 hr. in case there is a reaction. That's the really difficult part.
He is happy that he did it though.

Just for an alternative perspective.... my hubby has had great success treating allergies with acupuncture and chinese herbs. After initial treatment, he never sees those people again (for allergies, anyway!)

I am so anti appointment. I need to work on that. I don't even like "fun" appointments like for a massage or haircut or to get something new installed on my car. And I definitely have white coat syndrome. I hate to see doctors or be in doctors offices.

You can sign me up for a massage any day and I will be there early for that appointment!

They are good, aren't they? It's the idea of the appointment that annoys me.

According to the USDA nutrient levels in the foods we eat have fallen since the 1980's and the amount of pesticides we consume has risen. For people that have what appears to be a food allergy testing, if it can be done, is essential. My allergist tells me that I am allergic to everything he has to test for so testing is not necessary. There are two tests for allergies, the series of shots given under the skin to test for reactions to certain substances and the RAST test the looks at you bodies level of igE (immunoglobular E) a substance you make in response to the histamine your body produces in reaction to an allergen.
My GP tells me that he is looking for a plastic bubble for me to live in, except I may be allergic to those plastics as well.
