Good for you! When hubby and I built our carport with attached studio, he drew up the plans (no he is not an architect) on graph paper with pencil. The state and county approved it with no problems. And it is so gratifying to know we did this ourselves.
My gardens are the same- though I don't sketch designs on paper. My sketches are hoses, rocks and sticks that mark the shapes and old branches or whatever else is around that are used as a plant proxy . If I've made a glaring design mistake I just move it later.

No response yet from Reynado...that's ok, he wants me to write a safety plan for him on a contract bid. Sounds like a little barter is gonna happen.

Nah, the safety plan is contract requirement he needs to submit for a commercial job he is bidding on.
