Good info..thanks. While I don't have any boxwood, I do have LOTS of mature Norway Spruce. I've been thinking about ordering a fresh arrangement from Land's End...they keep sending me these 40/50 % off specials. I had not thought about possibly introducing something foreign into my area. Maybe I don't need a fresh arrangement on the Christmas dinner table.

binnylou , it is scary when you think about what can be introduced. Hoping you can find something local to decorate your Christmas table.

Hoping you can find something local to decorate your Christmas table. I usually just use a couple of candles. But, I do have a block of floral foam that I've been hoarding for YEARS...and we do have a lot of evergreens....and I have a big bolt of velvet red ribbon...perhaps I can get creative. Oh..and I forgot. I have LOTS and LOTS of pine cones. With 65-70 Norway Spruce, we have lots of pine cones.

With all that at your fingertips, I'm sure you could create something divine!

Just seeing this now...I think one of my boxwoods in the front yard might have had the blight. I initially thought it had dried out b/c of the intense summer a few years ago, so I pruned all the dead wood off. There's been no problem since, and in an interesting development dozens and dozens of baby boxwoods have sprouted. I just dug some up to be replanted in the cutting nursery which hasn't been created yet.
Maybe I should destroy them? There's no sign of blight on the sprouts.
I've never brought them into the house but I did make wreaths from them.
