Interesting to note that the vote was almost party line, including the two PA senators. Our D senator voted against. Our R senator voted for.

I am so blessed that both NY Senators voted NAY against this bill. And I sent an email to them thanking them for that. Good for you.. Unfortunately, our Iowa senators votes yea. With Cruz, Rubio, and Sanders not voting, the final vote could have gone the other direction.

Did you see the news that General Mills will voluntarily label GMO foods?

Good news, binnylouBit by bit, the labeling is happening. Now f we could just get them to stop the GMOs all together.

Keep in mind that since all of the food we eat, as well as all of the flowers we grow, are the result of genetic modification then General Mills will need to label everything. Better if they just label those Genetically Engineered foods.

Needing to start somewhere, kimmsr🕊 . I did not see that about General Mills...let's see how that plays out. But a step in the right direction. I don't know if it helped but I had sent a letter to both senators awhile back to please vote against this bill. I guess I would like to think it did but perhaps not. I do know one of the senators did receive $$ from Monsanto so I was glad to see her nay vote. I would do it over again.

It's so important to write to our senators and representatives. If the vast majority would, they'd have a strong grip on what their constituents want. They are, after all, suppose to be representing our needs/desires in Washington, not their own.
